Since 1999, German organist Martin Bambauer has served as Director of Music at Trier's Constantine Basilica, where he spearheaded the installation of its landmark 2014 Eule organ. Educated at the Düsseldorf and Frankfurt conservatoires under Hans-Dieter Möller and Daniel Roth, Bambauer won top honors at major competitions, including the 1995 Schwäbisch Gmünd Improvisation Competition. His international recital career spans prestigious venues such as Notre-Dame in Paris and St. Petersburg Philharmonia, alongside complete cycles of Bach and Duruflé. An acclaimed recording artist, conductor, and educator, Bambauer directs the Trier Bach Choir and previously taught organ improvisation at the Cologne Conservatoire.
