Five years after his acclaimed debut Tancade, cellist, composer, and producer Gaspar Claus will release his new album, CELLS, on September 25. Created alongside producer Basile3 in his custom Banyuls-sur-Mer studio and mixed by David Chalmin, the record emerges from a rigorous, year-and-a-half creative process into an effortless, emotionally resonant body of work. Blending organic cello instrumentation with electronic metamorphosis, Claus draws on American minimalism, Mediterranean traditions, and modern electronic experimentation. The multi-faceted title reflects autonomous yet interconnected musical units, offering a shifting sonic landscape where raw acoustic expression meets contemporary digital transformation without imposing a rigid narrative.

French cellist and composer Gaspar Claus has pursued an exploratory musical path since the early 2010s, transforming his classical training into an open instrument for dialogue and genre-transcending experimentation. Raised by flamenco guitarist Pedro Soler, Claus absorbed an expansive artistic perspective from an early age. Beyond his solo endeavors and performance career, he is the founder of Les Disques du Festival Permanent, a label dedicated to uninhibited collective creation, and a celebrated film composer. His original scores for acclaimed films and documentaries, including Makala, Le Fil, Un Monde Violent, and The Recipe, have repeatedly earned recognition at the Cannes Film Festival.
