Composer: John Dowland
- Come again
- Were every thought an eye
- Praise blindness eyes, for seeing is deceit
- A shepherd in a shade his plaining made
- My thoughts are wingd with hopes
- Clear or cloudy sweet as April showring
- The King Of Denmark's Galliard
- His golden locks time hath to silver turned
- Stay time a while thy flying
- Time Stands Still
- O sweet woods, the delight of solitarinesse
- Mr Dowland‘s Midnight
- Flow my teares, fall from your springs
- Now, O now, I needs must part
- My Lady Hundsdon’s Puffe
- Fine knacks for ladies
- The lowest trees have tops
- Unquiet thoughts
- Behold a wonder here
- Humour say what makst thou here
- Lady if you so spite me
- What poor astronomers are they
- Can she excuse my wrongs

Celebrating 400 years since John Dowland’s death, the Lautten Compagney Berlin presents Behold a wonder here, a curated survey of the English Renaissance composer’s iconic songbooks. Featuring landmark works like "Flow my tears" alongside lesser-known gems, the album showcases Dowland’s expressive range, bridging profound melancholy, intimate romance, and subtle humor. The ensemble brings these masterworks to life through a richly varied sonic palette of vocal consort, period plucked instruments, including lute, theorbo, cittern, and orpharion, viol consort, and keyboard. Through stylistic precision and textural clarity, the recording highlights Dowland’s enduring modernity and emotional resonance for contemporary listeners.
Founded in 1984 by lutenists Wolfgang Katschner and Hans-Werner Apel, the Lautten Compagney Berlin is a leading early music ensemble renowned for bridging historical performance practice with contemporary theatrical aesthetics. Under Katschner’s artistic direction, the Berlin-based group performs around 100 international concerts annually, presenting Baroque operas, interdisciplinary collaborations, and innovative cross-genre programs ranging from Monteverdi to modern reimaginings. A multi-award-winning ensemble, honored as Opus Klassik Ensemble of the Year in 2019 and 2025, their discography of over 60 recordings reflects an adventurous curiosity for discovering forgotten masterworks, cultivating young talent, and making 17th- and 18th-century repertoire accessible to global audiences.
