Dutch composer and musicologist Leo Samama (b. 1951) began his formal composition studies under Rudolf Escher and Bruno Maderna while pursuing musicology at Utrecht University. Rejecting rigid systems or fixed methods, Samama crafts works organically through piano improvisation and deep mental conceptualization, guided by a clear internal vision that rarely requires post-rehearsal revision. His expressive approach allows him to adopt distinct stylistic identities—or symbolic "coats"—tailored to each piece. Central to his compositional philosophy is the pursuit of natural narrative flow and meaningful communication, ensuring his music unfolds logically while engaging listeners through subtle, evocative storytelling.

Moscow-born pianist Sofia Vasheruk (b. 1988) studied under prominent pedagogues at the Gnessin and Chopin colleges before completing her Master’s degree cum laude at the ArtEZ Conservatory and undertaking postgraduate work at Italy’s Accademia Musicale di Fiesole. A laureate of major international competitions—including the Queen Elisabeth, Sigismund Thalberg, and YPF Dutch National competitions—she has performed with distinguished ensembles like the Noord Nederlands Orkest and the Russian National Orchestra. Known for her expressive interpretations spanning from Bach to Debussy, Vasheruk is also an active chamber musician, founder of the tango ensemble Siestango Quartet, and artistic director of the "Music Take in" foundation.
