Taking inspiration from the Celtic banshee's role as an interdimensional messenger, the all-female ensemble The BanXhies, featuring violinists Roxana Rastegar and Yaoré Talibart, cellist Suzanne Wolff, and harpsichordist Louise Acabo, uses music to bridge outer realities and inner emotional states. For their debut album, the quartet explores the aesthetic cross-pollination between Venice and Vienna through Baroque composer Antonio Caldara. Tracing his journey from his Venetian roots under Giovanni Legrenzi and Antonio Vivaldi to his career in Vienna, the recording highlights the rich dialogue between Italian expressivity and Germanic contrapuntal traditions shaped by cosmopolitan figures like Georg Muffat.

Inspired by Celtic mythology, early music ensemble The BanXhies uses music as a conduit between the physical and mystical realms. Comprising four musicians with diverse cultural backgrounds and artistic interests, the group crafts narrative-driven concert programs that seamlessly weave classical Baroque masterpieces with traditional melodies and custom transcriptions. As resident artists at the Singer-Polignac Foundation and alumni of the EEEMergings program, they maintain an active touring schedule across Europe, performing at prestigious venues like La Roque-d’Anthéron and broadcast platforms such as France Musique, while also dedicating their craft to community outreach performances in hospitals.
