In his ambitious 73-track digital album Piano Chronicles, pianist and composer Kit Armstrong embarks on a sweeping exploration of over four centuries of keyboard repertoire. Recorded live at the 2023 Spring Festival in Tokyo, this chronological panorama spans from late Renaissance masters like Byrd and Bach to modern innovators such as Takemitsu and Armstrong himself, featuring his original Études de dessin. By juxtaposing celebrated masterpieces with rarely performed works, Armstrong masterfully illuminates the stylistic and cultural connections across musical eras. Ultimately, the comprehensive collection highlights his dual role as an insightful interpreter of historical traditions and a contemporary voice extending their legacy.

Kit Armstrong (b. 1992) is a prodigiously gifted American pianist, composer, and mathematician who entered the global classical music stage at a young age. Mentored by Alfred Brendel, he holds degrees in both music and mathematics, and maintains an active international career as a soloist, chamber musician, conductor, and organist. An accomplished composer since age five, his published works encompass various vocal, chamber, and symphonic genres. Armstrong's acclaimed discography includes recordings for Deutsche Grammophon and Sony Classical, as well as notable film releases. Additionally, he established a cultural center in Hirson, France, hosting interdisciplinary performance projects and community outreach initiatives.
