Justus Eichhorn, a charismatic 16-year-old pianist and composer, marks his Deutsche Grammophon debut with The Source, an album celebrating the rich musical heritage of his birthplace, Weimar. Eichhorn curated a program featuring composers deeply tied to the German city, including J.S. Bach, Mendelssohn, Liszt, Richard Strauss, and Hindemith. Demonstrating his dual talents as an interpreter and creator, the recording highlights world premieres of three original compositions alongside Eichhorn's inventive re-imaginings of Czerny studies and his own arrangement of Vivaldi's Flautino Concerto Largo (RV 443). Complete with liner notes written by the young artist, the release establishes a dynamic new collaboration with the Yellow Label.

German pianist-composer Justus Eichhorn, born in 2009, is an internationally acclaimed prodigy of his generation. A student of Grigory Gruzman at Weimar's Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt, he debuted at age ten and has since performed solo and concerto repertoire across Europe and Asia, earning top awards at the Carl Bechstein Competition and Verbier Festival Academy. As a Gen Alpha artist, Eichhorn bridges classical traditions with digital platforms, captivating over half a million followers on social media. His Deutsche Grammophon debut album, The Source (2026), honors Weimar’s musical heritage with works by J.S. Bach, Liszt, and Hindemith alongside his own compositions and arrangements.
