To mark its 40th anniversary, the early music ensemble La Reverdie presents Venite alla danza!, a celebratory program devoted entirely to medieval dance forms from the 13th to 15th centuries. Exploring dance as a vibrant expression of social unity, the project spans diverse settings, from monastic communities and sacred devotional spaces to royal courts and public celebrations. The varied repertoire features 13th- to 15th-century instrumental pieces, Italian laude, pilgrimage songs, ballate, French ballades, virelais, and rondeaux. By highlighting the fluid interchangeability between vocal and instrumental roles, the collection refutes the misconception that medieval dance music was strictly instrumental.

Founded in 1986 by two pairs of Italian sisters, the medieval music ensemble La Reverdie has built an international reputation for scholarly research, virtuosic performance, and communicative warmth. The group tours extensively across Europe and Mexico, performing at major festivals and venues. With a catalog of over twenty recordings, primarily on the Arcana label, La Reverdie has earned widespread critical acclaim, beginning with the Diapason d’Or de l’Année in 1993 and including multiple International Classical Music Awards nominations in the Early Music category.
