Conductor Andris Nelsons and the Vienna Philharmonic present a landmark Gustav Mahler symphony cycle, captured live between 2018 and 2026. Following their acclaimed digital release of Mahler’s Fifth Symphony from the 2022 Salzburg Festival, this expansive survey combines Nelsons’ profound, almost mystical interpretation of the repertoire with the orchestra's legendary historical affinity for Mahler's music. The comprehensive project features an elite lineup of vocal soloists, including Lucy Crowe, Ekaterina Gubanova, and Benjamin Bruns, alongside world-class ensembles like the Wiener Sängerknaben for the choral symphonies. Available digitally in three distinct trilogy bundles (Symphonies 1–4; 5–7; 8–10), the collection stands as a monumentally significant contemporary Mahler recording.

Andris Nelsons, born in Riga in 1978 into a musical family, began his career as a trumpeter in the Latvian National Opera Orchestra while studying conducting. Renowned for his dynamic leadership and interpretive insight, he has served as Music Director of the Boston Symphony Orchestra since 2014/15 and of the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig since 2018. Nelsons has led landmark projects, including the 2025 Shostakovich Festival in Leipzig and collaborations with young musicians from Tanglewood and the Mendelssohn-Akademie. An exclusive Deutsche Grammophon artist, he has recorded Shostakovich, Bruckner, Beethoven, and Strauss cycles, earning multiple GRAMMY Awards. His career spans major international tours, residencies, and engagements with leading orchestras, reflecting his global influence and commitment to musical excellence.
