Swedish pianist Alice Power, winner of the 2025 Prix Cortot at the École Normale de Musique de Paris, presents her debut album recorded live in the iconic Salle Cortot. Anchored by the works of J.S. Bach, the recital thoughtfully contrasts Bach’s Prelude and Fugue No. 21 in B-flat major from The Well-Tempered Clavier with Shostakovich’s homage in the same key and structure. The program features Bach’s grand Overture in the French Style, BWV 831, before building to a virtuoso climax with Medtner’s dense Sonata Minacciosa, Op. 53 No. 2. Power gracefully concludes her recital with Rachmaninoff’s charming Polka de W.R.
