Composed by João Marcondes, Brazilian Suite No. 5 expands the chamber music repertoire through a unique seven-movement structure that celebrates the rich breadth of Brazilian musical traditions. Each movement honors a distinct national form, from the lively rhythms of Choro and Xote to the reflective depth of Coral, Choroso, and Lament, fusing expressive regional styles with lyrical melodic writing. This original work is brought to life by Duo Música Viva São Paulo, featuring OSESP cellist Marialbi Trisolio and Curtis Institute alumnus Darrin C. Milling on bass trombone, who deliver a masterful performance defined by technical precision, artistic excellence, and profound musicality.
