Making his debut on the PENTATONE label, acclaimed horn soloist Ben Goldscheider joins the Münchener Kammerorchester for a fresh recording of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s four complete horn concertos. Written originally for Mozart’s friend Joseph Leutgeb, these cornerstone works balance lyrical intimacy with sparkling virtuosic dialogue between soloist and ensemble. Goldscheider draws on a lifelong familiarity with the repertoire, delivering interpretations defined by structural clarity, dynamic energy, and mature artistic insight. Uniquely ordered in reverse sequence from Concerto No. 4 to No. 1, the album offers listeners an engaging new perspective on the evolutionary arc of these foundational classical masterpieces.

Born in London in 1997, horn soloist Ben Goldscheider studied at the Barenboim-Said Academy under Radek Baborák after early training at the Royal College of Music Junior Department. A former BBC Young Musician finalist and ECHO Rising Star, Goldscheider serves as Principal Horn of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra and holds a professorship at the Royal Conservatory in Antwerp. A champions of contemporary music, he has premiered over 70 works and performed regularly with world-class ensembles across premier venues like the Concertgebouw, Elbphilharmonie, and Wigmore Hall, establishing himself as one of his generation's most dynamic and versatile horn virtuosos.
