Already with their first album „Tanz’ von innen“ (Dance from Within), the Divinerinnen impressed with their sleek sound ideal, which gently creeps into the ears, while at the same time subtly challenging conventional listening habits. After all, everyone has the typical sound of Viennese entertainment music unconsciously in their ear. Now, three years later, comes their new album „divinerisch!” (Divine!), and for this, the seven musicians seem to have distilled their style and lightened it up – the Landler no longer sounds like leather soles on wooden floors, but like barefoot on a summer meadow. The "Divine" rises to airy heights. The cozy, heavy feeling of late hours, wine, and camaraderie that many associate with Viennese music is not their thing. They give their melodies a radical breath of fresh air. One can feel the cool breeze in the ears: sharp and spicy, radiant and sparkling tones, delicate and light-footed melodies. More like Frizzante than a Spritzer. Many typical Viennese motifs are thoroughly aired out. Some "outsider" pieces are confidently made divine. And when they dip a toe briefly and elegantly into the dirt with a cheeky verse, they manage to be terribly charming and just a little sexy, these Divinerinnen. (Sandra Hupfauf)
