Luca Mosca (born 1957 in Milan) completed his studies at the G. Verdi Conservatory in Milan, where he graduated in piano, harpsichord and composition; his teachers were Eli Perrotta, Antonio Ballista, Marina Mauriello, Salvatore Sciarrino and Franco Donatoni. He is active as a pianist and harpsichordist, often proposing in concert programs composed mainly of contemporary music, authors of the historical twentieth century and his music. As a pianist he recorded Claude Debussy's Études for the CGD, as well as music by various romantic authors. He lives and works in Venice, where he teaches at the B. Marcello Conservatory.
Alfonso Baschiera, an honors graduate of the Venice Conservatory, studied with Angelo Amato and Ruggero Chiesa. He is known for commissioning and performing works by Luca Mosca and Alessandro Solbiati, and for editing the influential educational collection La chitarra oggi in 1990. His chamber music recordings, including Colori e Danze del Novecento and the guitar works of Ferenk Farkas, have received international acclaim. Baschiera is also a respected author and editor, with publications such as The Easy Guitar and editions of works by Paganini and Carulli. His recordings on Brilliant Classics and Da Vinci Editions have earned high praise across Europe.
