Rebekka Hartmann, born in Munich in 1981, began violin lessons at age five and studied with Andreas Reiner and Alice Schoenfeld. She has won several international awards, including the Henri Marteau Violin Competition and the Jascha Heifetz Scholarship. Her global career includes collaborations with conductors like Christoph Eschenbach and Kent Nagano, and performances with major orchestras and festivals worldwide. Her repertoire spans from Baroque to contemporary works, with premieres of pieces by Larsson and Eliasson. She has released several acclaimed recordings, including Birth of the Violin, which earned an ECHO Classic Prize, and performs on a 1675 Antonio Stradivarius violin.
