Sophia Weidemann (b. 1994, Filderstadt) is a German pianist acclaimed for her solo and chamber performances. Beginning piano at ten, she studied in Stuttgart, Vienna, and Riga, earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees with top honors. In 2020 she entered the prestigious concert exam program, excelling with Brahms’s Piano Concerto No. 2 and Bach’s Goldberg Variations, receiving distinction. A prizewinner at competitions in Paris and Vienna, she also won first prize with Kyklos Chambers at the Virtuoso & Belcanto Festival 2022. Her 2024 debut CD of Fanny Hensel’s works on GENUIN drew critical praise, reflecting her blend of music and language.
