The Musical Offering, one of Bach’s great monothematic works of the 1740s, stands out for its diverse structure, comprising two ricercars, ten canons, and a trio sonata. In this recording, the ensemble NeoBarock, founded in 2003, presents Bach’s masterpiece alongside Viktor Kalabis’s Kánonické invence (Canonical Inventions) and Isang Yun’s Royal Theme (1976).
