Following his complete recordings of Ennio Morricone’s Cinema Suites for violin and orchestra, Marco Serino now presents world premiere recordings of Morricone’s own arrangements for violin and piano. Joined by pianist Leandro Piccioni, both longtime collaborators with Morricone and the Roma Sinfonietta, Serino explores these original arrangements from celebrated film soundtracks. The album Cinema Memories expands the repertoire, featuring works from John Williams’ Schindler’s List, Bernstein’s West Side Story Suite, and Myroslav Skoryk’s Melody in A minor, blending cinematic classics with evocative pieces. The program balances memory and imagination, melancholy and light, offering a rich, multifaceted listening experience.

Marco Serino is an acclaimed Italian violinist and chamber musician, trained at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome and furthered in Vienna, Paris, London, and Geneva, where he earned the Premier Prix de virtuosité. Founder of the Bernini Quartet and member of I Musici, he has collaborated with leading artists and performed with top orchestras in major venues worldwide, from the Musikverein in Vienna to the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg. Composers including Ennio Morricone have dedicated works to him. Serino’s recordings, notably Morricone’s Suites from the Cinema, have received critical acclaim. He teaches at Trento Conservatory, gives international masterclasses, and conducts musicological research on Bach, playing a 2021 Gonzalo y Bayolo violin.
