Woven Words is a recording dedicated to contemporary vocal music, exploring how speech can be integrated into musical texture. Featuring works composed between 1988 and 2022, the programme highlights a wide range of modern compositional approaches. Across the recording, the human voice—sometimes paired with acoustic instruments, sometimes with electronics—creates varied sound worlds that shift between dramatic intensity, sensual expressiveness, and playful experimentation.

French soprano Clara Barbier Serrano is studying at the Royal College of Music International Opera Studio, supported as the first recipient of the Andrea Bocelli Foundation – Community Jameel Scholarship. She previously trained in Leipzig, building a broad Lied and concert repertoire and performing with leading ensembles and festivals. Clara has appeared in operatic roles at Leipzig Opera and the Verbier Festival Academy, and has shared the stage with Andrea Bocelli. Her work strongly embraces contemporary and interdisciplinary projects, including several premieres and upcoming new operas in London. Since 2019, she has been a member of Juliette Rahon & Co Ensemble.

High Resolution 24-bit / 48 kHz
