Building on the success of their Winterreise, tenor Cyrille Dubois and pianist Anne Le Bozec, joined by a close-knit ensemble of chamber musicians, explore the poetic world of Ralph Vaughan Williams. Landscapes presents an intimate programme that balances introspection and nature, combining landmark cycles such as Songs of Travel and On Wenlock Edge with the poignant Hymns and lesser-known works. Drawing on the richness of English folklore and lyricism, the album highlights Vaughan Williams as a vital link between English musical tradition and the European lied, offering a nuanced portrait of a composer still underrepresented on French stages.
Cyrille Dubois (born 27 September 1984) is a French tenor renowned for his stylistic versatility and refined musicianship. His repertoire spans Baroque, Mozart, bel canto, French opéra-comique, and contemporary music. Dubois has appeared at major European opera houses including La Scala, the Vienna State Opera, and the Opéra Comique. His extensive discography includes more than forty recordings, encompassing opera, sacred music, and art song.
Anne Le Bozec is a distinguished French pianist and vocal accompanist, prizewinner at the Paris Conservatory and the Konzertexamen de Lied in Karlsruhe, and laureate of major international competitions. Her artistic development has been shaped by influential musicians including Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau and Hartmut Höll. A highly sought-after collaborator, she performs regularly with leading singers and instrumentalists and appears in major concert halls worldwide. Le Bozec has released numerous acclaimed recordings devoted to Lied and chamber music and has championed previously unpublished repertoire. Since 2005, she has been Professor of Vocal Accompaniment at the Paris Conservatory, where she also co-directs the German Lied class on French melody.
