Accursio Antonio Cortese (born June 13, 1980, in Castelvetrano) is an Italian composer, pianist, conductor, and educator. A precocious musician, he trained at the Palermo Conservatory and earned advanced specialization in composition at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome. He further refined his craft in film music, opera, conducting, and jazz with leading international figures. Cortese has composed extensively for symphonic, chamber, sacred, operatic, and film contexts, with performances at major venues and festivals in Italy and abroad. A full professor at the A. Scarlatti Conservatory in Palermo, he is also active as an organist, producer, and former artistic director of Sciacca Jazz.
