Joshua Epstein (born 1940) is an Israeli classical violinist and distinguished music educator recognized for numerous international awards from violin competitions and recording labels. He has built an extensive career as both a soloist and chamber musician, while also exerting significant influence as a professor of violin for more than fifty years. Since 1978, Epstein has lived and taught in Saarbrücken, Germany, where he continues his work at the Hochschule für Musik Saar. His new album, featuring sonatas by Beethoven and Bartók, includes pianist Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden and is released as part of Deutsche Grammophon’s debut series highlighting early recordings of prominent artists.
