This program presents a bold reinterpretation of works by Gershwin and Pablo de Sarasate through the marimba, led by virtuoso Adélaïde Ferrière, a distinctive voice in today’s classical scene. The repertoire includes Carmen Fantasy in an arrangement for marimba and orchestra, alongside Rhapsody in Blue in a new arrangement by Ferrière herself. Adélaïde Ferrière is an internationally acclaimed French percussionist and marimba virtuoso who has performed in more than thirty countries and on major stages worldwide. Praised by Le Monde as “a phenomenon,” she has appeared at leading venues and festivals and collaborated as a soloist with numerous orchestras, including the Orchestre National de France and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio-France. A graduate of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, she gained early recognition in 2017 as the first percussionist nominated for “Révélation Soliste Instrumental” at the Victoires de la Musique Classique. Deeply committed to contemporary music, she frequently premieres new works while maintaining an active recording and international performance career.
