Homero Francesch, a Swiss-Uruguayan pianist born in Montevideo in 1947, has established an international reputation as a distinguished soloist, performing with many of the world’s leading orchestras and appearing in numerous televised music productions. He has also participated in prominent music festivals worldwide. In addition to his performing career, Francesch served for more than 33 years as a professor at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste, where he led a soloist class. His new digital album, featuring solo piano works by Schumann, Mendelssohn, and Ravel, is released as part of Deutsche Grammophon’s debut series highlighting early recordings of artists who later achieved significant careers.
