This album brings together renowned soloists Esther Abrami, Mariko Muranaka, Louis Philippson, Raphaela Gromes, and Tim Allhoff, accompanied by a large choir and the NDR Radiophilharmonie conducted by Michael England. Featuring newly created orchestral arrangements, the project presents epic interpretations of music from celebrated anime series and films, including Demon Slayer, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Naruto, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Bleach, Kiki’s Delivery Service, and Spirited Away. Some tracks also incorporate a rock band of leading studio musicians, adding a dynamic dimension to the sound. All arrangements and recordings have been approved by the original composers or rights holders, reflecting a carefully crafted tribute to the iconic music of these beloved productions.
Michael England, born in Colchester and educated at the University of Huddersfield, has built a distinguished career as a conductor, composer, and musical director. He has conducted numerous leading orchestras worldwide, including major British ensembles and international symphonies across Europe, Asia, and Australia. In musical theatre, he has led prominent West End productions such as The Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables, and Monty Python’s Spamalot, and conducted the world premiere concert version of Evita for an audience of 14,000. His television work includes BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2017 and The Sound of Music – Live. England has also composed for film, television, theatre, and ballet, and created orchestral arrangements for major productions and recordings.
