This EP features the Danish vocal consort ÆTLA performing Månen (“The Moon”) by Denmark-based Polish composer Adrianna Kubica-Cypek. Inspired by the evocative poetry of Barbara Agertoft, the work traces a progression from the fragility of an individual voice to the resilience of a unified ensemble. Blending sacred references with elements of Polish experimental tradition, Kubica-Cypek crafts a rich, immersive soundscape. The composition functions as a contemplative meditation on the moon as a symbol of shared illumination, ultimately emphasizing themes of connection, collective strength, and a profound sense of human belonging.

Adrianna Kubica-Cypek (b. 1996, Kędzierzyn-Koźle) is a Polish composer based in Copenhagen, recognized for her vocal and instrumental works that explore the interplay of sensory experiences, including sound, vision, and texture. With a strong focus on vocal aesthetics, her music emphasizes organic, bodily qualities of sound. She is a guest teacher at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen and received the 2025 Carl Prisen as Danish Classical Composer of the Year for her piece Printemps. Educated in Katowice, Lyon, and Copenhagen, she has collaborated with leading European ensembles and conductors on numerous contemporary music projects.
