Jean-Baptiste Doulcet presents an imaginative musical project that bridges cinema and improvisation, reflecting his foundational artistic practice. Drawing inspiration from iconic filmmakers such as Ingmar Bergman, Agnès Varda, Kenji Mizoguchi, David Lynch, and Buster Keaton, the work reimagines cinematic history through sound. Structured like a curated film library, the music functions as a series of evocative “second films,” capturing diverse styles and atmospheres. By integrating spoken contributions from contemporary filmmakers, the project celebrates the enduring vitality of cinema while offering a deeply personal and interpretive homage to the art form.
