Duo Mateaux, formed by cellist Giovanna Buccarella and guitarist Francesco Diodovich, is dedicated to promoting and expanding the repertoire for cello and guitar through performances and commissioned works. Both trained and now teach at the Bari Conservatory, they have inspired compositions from numerous contemporary composers. Their 2016 debut CD ONDE received critical acclaim, followed by VIAJES (2018) exploring Latin American repertoire, and DOUBLE CONCERTO (2020), featuring collaborations with the Orchestra Filarmonica Pugliese. They have performed widely, including works by Astor Piazzolla, and continue recording new projects focused on contemporary music.
