French Mélodie with Orchestra showcases a new recording by Dubois, following his acclaimed exploration of lesser-known opéra-comique works in So Romantique !. This album highlights the French mélodie with orchestral accompaniment, a rare and intimate repertoire demanding acute attention to tone color and expressive nuance. Curated by the scholars of Palazzetto Bru Zane, the program revives forgotten gems of French musical heritage, emphasizing refinement, subtlety, and poetic elegance, and offering listeners a rediscovery of the artful delicacy central to the mélodie tradition.
