This project presents a distinctive reimagining of Johann Sebastian Bach’s Goldberg Variations through an innovative arrangement by Czech composer Tomáš Ille, commissioned by horn player and conductor Radek Baborák. Scored for violin, French horn, bass clarinet, and marimba, the recording brings together a group of distinguished musicians, including violinist Dalibor Karvay and bass clarinettist Petr Valášek, alongside vibraphonist Andrei Pushkarev. Their collaboration offers a fresh interpretative perspective on Bach’s iconic work, expanding its sonic palette and transcending traditional genre boundaries while maintaining the structural integrity and expressive depth of the original composition.
