Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra’s fifth album, released on 8 May 2026, presents historically informed performances of works by Louise Farrenc and Anton Eberl. The recording features Farrenc’s Nonet and Eberl’s Symphony in E-flat major, both performed on period instruments and documented in live performances from recent tours. This release marks the first Australian recording of both works and only the second globally using historically informed performance practices. The album highlights two historically significant composers, with Farrenc notably recognized in 19th-century Paris for her advocacy of artistic equality and Eberl celebrated in his time for symphonic writing alongside Beethoven. Conducted by violinist Rachael Beesley, the project emphasizes both artistic excellence and the revival of underrepresented repertoire.
Rachael Beesley is an internationally active Australian-British violinist, conductor, concertmaster, and educator specializing in historically informed performance.
