Mirco De Stefani is an Italian composer and physician whose four-decade career combines musical creativity with medical practice. A composition graduate of the Padua Conservatory under Wolfango Dalla Vecchia, he has written more than eighty works spanning solo, chamber, orchestral, choral, and operatic repertoire, including the opera Le Baccanti. His music blends influences ranging from serialism to pre-Renaissance polyphony and frequently draws on the poetry of both classical and modern writers, including Dante, Shakespeare, Pessoa, Ungaretti, Pasolini, and Andrea Zanzotto. De Stefani has also published essays on musical aesthetics, and many of his compositions have appeared on monographic recordings. In 2024, his work Cori di Boezio received the High Patronage of the European Parliament under the presidency of Roberta Metsola.
Barbara Zanichelli is an Italian light soprano recognized for her versatility in early and contemporary music.
