Galiza eterna celebrates the enduring musical heritage of Galicia through a historically informed journey that connects medieval and Baroque traditions with contemporary interpretation. The album features works in Old Galician by figures such as Martín Codax and Alfonso X, alongside music from the Codex Calixtinus linked to the Camino de Santiago. It also explores the chaconne “Sante Jaco,” documented by English pilgrim William Wey in 1456, suggesting possible Galician origins for the dance form. Concluding with works by Diego de las Muelas, the recording revives centuries of musical memory using reproductions of period instruments to recreate the rich sound world of medieval and Baroque Galicia.
