The Landscape of Clara Schumann presents a richly textured musical journey that connects historical tradition with contemporary interpretation through the artistry of Heike-Angela Moser, a descendant of Clara Schumann. Rather than offering a purely historical reconstruction, the recording explores Clara Schumann’s artistic world as a living dialogue shaped by composers such as Baldassare Galuppi, Franz Schubert, Johannes Brahms, Fanny Hensel, and Pauline Viardot-Garcia. A defining feature of the album is the use of an 1859 Schiedmayer fortepiano, whose distinctive tonal character and historical authenticity illuminate the repertoire with remarkable depth and nuance, creating an evocative soundscape that bridges past and present.

Heike-Angela Moser is a German pianist whose artistic work spans solo performance, chamber music, Lieder, and interdisciplinary projects, with a particular focus on the music and cultural world of Clara Schumann and Robert Schumann. Her research-driven engagement with the Schumanns has inspired recital series, podcasts, museum collaborations, and the 2025 recording project The Landscape of Clara Schumann for Coviello Classics. Moser founded ensembles including Duo Khimaira, the piano duo Moser/Osellame, and the CLAJOS Schumann Trio Düsseldorf. She has performed internationally at venues such as Philharmonie Essen and the Schumann Houses in Leipzig and Zwickau, and has collaborated on educational and intercultural initiatives, including projects with Ghetto Classics. In 2021, she received a research fellowship from the Heine-Haus Hamburg and the Fanny and Felix Mendelssohn Society.
