The MDR Symphony Orchestra Leipzig, under Chief Conductor Dennis Russell Davies, has partnered with GENUIN for an ambitious recording project presenting Anton Bruckner’s symphonies exclusively in their original first versions. Chronicling the composer's complete evolutionary arc, the series spans from his earliest symphonic sketches to his monumental late masterpieces, allowing listeners to experience his developmental process in unprecedented detail. The latest installment in this monthly release series features Symphony No. 1 in C minor. This specific recording spotlights the original 1866 "Linz version," capturing Bruckner's symphonic vision before later revisions altered its initial structural and expressive form.
