Distinguished Japanese violinist Machiko Shimada presents a definitive recording of Johann Sebastian Bach’s complete "Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin." Captured at Nagoya's Munetsugu Hall, this milestone project showcases a musician who has earned the complete trust of legendary conductor Seiji Ozawa. Since 1998, Shimada has been a vital member of both the Saito Kinen Orchestra and the Mito Chamber Orchestra, while also garnering critical acclaim as an international chamber musician and concertmaster of the Central Aichi Symphony Orchestra. Her interpretation of Bach's solo masterpieces brings a brilliant, seasoned expertise to the ultimate sacred text of violin literature.

Born in Nagoya, acclaimed violinist Machiko Shimada graduated at the top of her class from Tokyo University of the Arts in 1998, later earning highest honors and the German National Performer's Qualification from the Detmold University of Music. Following six years of artistic refinement across Europe, she returned to Japan in 2005. Today, she maintains an elite orchestral and chamber career as a vital member of the prestigious Saito Kinen Orchestra, Mito Chamber Orchestra, and Izumi Sinfonietta, while additionally serving as the solo concertmaster of the Nagoya-based Central Aichi Symphony Orchestra.
