In the new deluxe edition EP, Rarities, composer Roger Eno expands upon his album Without Wind, Without Air by presenting eight previously unreleased tracks from the original Berlin recording sessions. Digitally released, this carefully curated and newly sequenced project recontextualizes set-aside works to create a cohesive, standalone narrative. The music seamlessly bridges intimate solo piano compositions with richly layered ensemble pieces featuring strings, accordion, clarinet, bass, and synthesizers. Performing alongside Eno are producer Christian Badzura, Tobias Fleischer, Alexander Glücksmann, and the Scoring Berlin strings under the direction of conductor Jonathan Stockhammer, offering a fresh, sophisticated perspective on the original sessions.

Roger Eno, born in 1959 in Woodbridge, Suffolk, is a British composer and musician celebrated for his introspective and poetic style. After studying at the Colchester Institute School of Music, he began his career collaborating with his brother Brian and Daniel Lanois on Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks (1983). Since then, he has released numerous solo and collaborative albums with artists including Peter Hammill, The Orb, and Lou Reed. His music, often inspired by the quiet landscapes of East Anglia, extends to theatre and film, including Betrayal at London’s National Theatre and Nick Hornby’s State of the Union.
