Japanese pianist Nariaki Sugiura earned his master's and doctoral degrees from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. Praised by European critics for his passionate yet disciplined technique, he has performed solo and concerto engagements at prestigious international venues, including Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall. An active recording artist, editor, and adjudicator, Dr. Sugiura is also a prominent pedagogue who has delivered master classes worldwide. He currently serves as Associate Professor of Piano and Collaborative Piano at the University of North Dakota and holds a visiting faculty position at East China Normal University.
