Following her acclaimed recital dedicated to exiled composers, violinist Sueye Park collaborates with the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin and conductor Valentin Egel to present concertante works by Karl Goldmark and Jean Sibelius. Inspired by Sibelius’s brief study under Goldmark in Vienna, this album explores the shared musical DNA of two virtuoso violinists who drew from similar Romantic influences. At the core of the program is Goldmark’s sweeping, virtuosic Violin Concerto in A minor, Op. 28. This masterpiece is complemented by Sibelius’s exquisite shorter works, including his late Suite and expressive Humoresques, celebrating the profound connection both composers shared with the violin.

South Korean violinist Sueye Park, born in 2000, has established herself as a premier international talent, culminating in her first-prize win at the 2025 International Jean Sibelius Violin Competition. A former prodigy who began her studies at age four, she trained under Ulf Wallin in Berlin and Clive Brown in Vienna. Park maintains a prolific career as a soloist and chamber musician, performing globally with leading orchestras like the Helsinki Philharmonic. Her extensive, critically acclaimed discography with BIS Records includes a Gramophone "Recording of the Year" selection in 2021. Currently a teaching assistant in Berlin, she performs on exceptional historic instruments.
