On August 14, 2026, Divine Art released The Complete Piano Music of Anthony Hedges, Vol. 1, initiating a three-album series recorded by British pianist Adam Davies. Spanning three decades of Hedges’ creative evolution, this inaugural volume captures the prolific composer’s rich stylistic range through many premiere recordings. The collection spans from the energetic Five Preludes (1959) to the evocative Five Aphorisms (1990), anchored by two landmark works: the serialist Four Short Pieces and the dramatic First Sonata. Interspersed with charming pedagogical miniatures for young players, the album highlights Hedges’ exceptional craftsmanship, vibrant palette, and expressive pianistic flair.

English composer, pianist, and academic Anthony Hedges (1931–2019) studied at Keble College, Oxford, before serving as a lecturer at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Reader in Composition at Hull University. A versatile and prolific artist with over 60 commissioned works, Hedges composed across diverse genres, including serious concert pieces, light orchestral music, film scores, and educational works. He served as Chairman of the Composers' Guild of Great Britain, founded the Humberside Sinfonia and Westfield Music publishing, and received an honorary doctorate from Hull University. His extensively recorded repertoire has been performed by major orchestras worldwide.

British pianist Adam Davies (b. 1993) is an active recitalist, concerto soloist, conductor, and educator who serves on the faculty at Chetham’s School of Music and Rossall School, as well as an ABRSM examiner. Educated at the Royal Northern College of Music under John Gough and Dr. Murray McLachlan, Davies earned multiple postgraduate degrees with distinction alongside numerous competition accolades and scholarships. He maintains a broad performance repertoire extending from Renaissance masters to contemporary figures like Anthony Hedges and Tom Harrold. Beyond his solo career, Davies directs Chester's St. John’s Festival Orchestra and has collaborated with prominent conductors including Sir Mark Elder.
