On MOSAICOS, oboist and English horn player Lindsay Flowers presents a vibrant program inspired by architecture, Art Nouveau, romantic poetry, and the sensory phenomenon of synesthesia. Playing with immaculate control and expressive sensitivity, Flowers explores the rich colors, textures, and structural nuances of compositions designed to be performed either as individual movements or complete works, mirroring the flexible beauty of a mosaic. Supported by pianist Christopher Taylor, the duo delivers a captivating, deeply refined performance that seamlessly bridges visual art, literature, and chamber music into a unified and engaging listening experience.

Lindsay Flowers, Assistant Professor of Oboe at the UW–Madison Mead Witter School of Music and member of the Wingra Wind Quintet, is a distinguished oboist, English hornist, and pedagogue. She performs with the Madison Symphony Orchestra and Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, following orchestral tenure with the Milwaukee Ballet and Civic Orchestra of Chicago as a Civic Fellow mentored by Yo-Yo Ma. An active chamber, festival, and solo artist, she has recorded for PARMA Recordings (FROM THE SEA TO THE STARS, MOSAICOS) and performed internationally. Flowers holds a DM from Indiana University and is additionally recognized for her expertise in gouging machine maintenance.

Hailed by critics as "frighteningly talented" (The New York Times), pianist Christopher Taylor is the Paul Collins Professor of Piano Performance at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and a Steinway Artist. A laureate of the Van Cliburn and William Kapell competitions, Taylor has performed internationally and with major US ensembles like the New York and Los Angeles Philharmonics. His wide-ranging repertoire spans four centuries, highlighting masterworks by Bach, Beethoven, and Liszt alongside contemporary composers such as Messiaen and Ligeti. Combining musical artistry with a background in mathematics from Harvard, Taylor is also recognized for performance innovations, including playing and modernizing double-manual pianos.
