The album out into the open captures a decade-spanning artistic evolution, marking the final recording session of Trio Accanto's core lineup (Nicolas Hodges, Marcus Weiss, and Christian Dierstein) prior to Hodges' departure in 2024. Featuring compositions by Brice Pauset, Rebecca Saunders, Misato Mochizuki, and Beat Furrer, the collection spans the ensemble's history from Pauset’s early staple, "Adagio dialettico," to three newer works tailor-made for the trio's distinct dynamic. Ranging from contemplative to experimental, these compositions highlight the ensemble's virtuosic versatility while exploring deeper thematic intersections of individual freedom, creative compatibility, and collective artistic expression.

Composed of Marcus Weiss, Christian Dierstein, and pianist Stefan Wirth, who succeeded Nicolas Hodges and founding pianist Yukiko Sugawara, Trio Accanto is an internationally acclaimed contemporary chamber ensemble. Formed in 1994, the group transformed their rare instrumentation of saxophone, percussion, and piano from a classical anomaly into a vibrant genre, commissioning nearly one hundred new works from leading composers including Georg Friedrich Haas, Helmut Lachenmann, and Rebecca Saunders. Renowned for world-class interpretations, the trio regularly performs at major global contemporary music festivals, maintaining an extensive, award-nominated discography while continuously expanding the boundaries of modern chamber repertoire through ambitious international commission projects.

High Resolution 24-bit / 48 kHz
