Released by Métier Records on August 7, 2026, pianist Joseph Havlat’s groundbreaking album, Sinner, Don’t Let This Harvest Pass, explores the artistic concept of musical transcription across works by Robert Schumann, Michael Finnissy, and Cassandra Miller. The program features Schumann’s Geistervariationen alongside Finnissy’s responding work, RS Geistervariationen, which fuses transcribed Brahms passages with original musical commentary. Additionally, the release highlights Miller’s MIDI-inspired Philip the Wanderer and the title track, a unique co-composition by Finnissy and Miller based on an African American spiritual made famous by Marian Anderson, showcasing a seamless, conversational blend of both composers' distinct artistic voices.

Joseph Havlat is a London-based Australian pianist and composer who graduated with distinction from the Royal Academy of Music, where he has taught since 2019. A leading interpreter of contemporary repertoire, Havlat has performed internationally across major venues in Europe, North America, and Asia, collaborating with prominent living composers and curating London's Points of Departure concert series. He maintains an active chamber career, regularly performing with renowned artists and ensembles including the Colin Currie Group and the London Symphony Orchestra Percussion Ensemble. Also a prolific composer, Havlat creates works ranging from solo voice to large ensemble pieces frequently inspired by nature.
