Following her acclaimed album Wanderer without words, French pianist and arranger Juliette Journaux presents a recital dedicated to Germanic post-Romanticism at the turn of the 20th century. Exploring a era defined by expanding tonal boundaries and heightened emotional contrasts, where ecstasy meets anguish, Journaux frames her program around the lasting impact of Richard Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde. Featuring works by successive Viennese composers, including Wolf, Zemlinsky, Schoenberg, Schreker, Braunfels, and Korngold, the album showcases numerous original piano transcriptions by Journaux. Through her nuanced and passionate interpretation, she offers a captivating perspective on a pivotal transformation in music history.

A triple graduate of the Paris Conservatory, French pianist and vocal coach Juliette Journaux maintains a dynamic career as both a soloist and operatic collaborator. A BBC Rising Star, Journaux has performed at prestigious venues like the Salle Pleyel and the Philharmonie de Paris, while regularly coaching for institutions such as the Opéra-Comique and Aix-en-Provence Festival. Renowned for her original transcriptions and advocacy of the Lied repertoire, her discography includes her 2023 solo debut Wanderer without words, an acclaimed 2025 premiere recording of Oskar C. Posa's music, and her 2026 Alpha Classics release, Tristan Generation. She has taught at the Geneva University of Music since 2023.
