Commemorating the 40th anniversary of soprano Agnieszka Kurowska’s distinguished career, this celebratory album showcases the long-time Warsaw Chamber Opera soloist across her versatile range, from agile coloratura to commandingly dramatic roles. The release compiles archival live recordings featuring the Warsaw Chamber Opera, the Poznań Grand Theatre Orchestra, and the Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra, alongside featured guest vocalists such as Ewa Podleś. Highlighted by famous arias and duets from Mozart and Rossini, Kurowska brings temperamental heroines like Donna Anna and Semiramide to life. Captured live, these performances preserve the spontaneous energy and vivid atmosphere of premiere opera productions.
Soprano Agnieszka Kurowska-Janecka, an honors graduate of Warsaw’s Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music, is an acclaimed operatic soloist and vocal pedagogue. A multi-competition laureate and two-time recipient of the Polish Ministry of Culture scholarship, she performed for decades with prestigious institutions including the Warsaw Chamber Opera and Grand Theatre–National Opera. Her extensive repertoire spans over 40 leading roles, alongside diverse oratorio and art song literature. Having toured internationally and appeared in notable television and film projects, she holds honours including the Golden Cross of Merit. Currently, she serves as a research academic, voice specialist, and cultural director in Poland.
