_____________________
Paganini’s 24 Caprices have captivated audiences ever since they were first played, the virtuosity they demand of the performer an essential part of their fascination. However, given the close attention listeners pay to their staggering technical difficulty, it is rare for performers to succeed in projecting anything beyond sheer virtuosity. But François Sochard (b. 1979), who studied with Salvatore Accardo, leads the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne and is assistant professor to Renaud Capuçon at the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne (HEMU), recalls that Paganini himself dedicated his Caprices “to the artists”, and has endeavoured to infuse into this recording his nearly forty years of experience since his début at the age of 10.
High Resolution 24-bit / 96 kHz
