Aurora Avveduto is an accomplished Italian pianist specializing in modern and contemporary music. She graduated with top honors from the G. Puccini Conservatory in Gallarate and earned a Master's in Contemporary Music Interpretation from the G. Donizetti Conservatory in Bergamo, where she is now a doctoral candidate. She has studied with renowned musicians and participated in masterclasses with leading contemporary composers. Avveduto has premiered numerous new works and regularly performs across Italy in venues such as Sala Piatti and Teatro Donizetti. She also collaborates with percussionist Massimiliano Varotto, exploring 20th-century repertoire through innovative performances combining music, readings, and improvisation.
This disc presents performances filled with a tranquil atmosphere, just as the album title suggests. The program, centered around Tōru Takemitsu and Tan Dun, is highly successful and has resulted in a well-integrated and cohesive recording. The tone is rich and clean, and the excellent recording captures a spacious sound stage, which is especially noteworthy. It’s a recommended album even for those unfamiliar with contemporary music.
