In her sixth album for FHR, pianist Alexandra Papastefanou delivers a standout interpretation, showcasing exceptional Baroque technique, expressive individuality, and refined touch. Alexandra Papastefanou is a distinguished Greek pianist, composer, and scholar, celebrated for her deep artistry and versatility. A graduate of the Athens Conservatoire, she furthered her studies in Moscow, Budapest, and Indiana under renowned mentors including György Sebők and Alfred Brendel. A prizewinner at the Clara Haskil and Geneva Competitions, she has earned acclaim for her performances of J.S. Bach, whose complete keyboard works she has performed and recorded. Her wide-ranging repertoire spans Baroque to contemporary composers, including major Greek figures. Also active as a composer, she recently released Pasiphae and Minerals, and published a book on Bach’s musical aesthetics.
