Glass Gaze is the latest album from French classical guitarists Roxane Elfasci and Baptiste Erard, joined by percussionist Théo Lampérier. The trio reimagines twelve of Philip Glass’s Piano Etudes for two guitars and percussion, transforming the works into guitar-native soundscapes with rasgueados, harmonics, alternate tunings, and layered rhythms. Developed over two years after an encounter with Etude No. 16, the project blends minimalism with contemporary textures. Elfasci and Erard, praised by outlets like BBC Music Magazine and Gramophone, have been nominated for “International Ensemble” by the Guitar Foundation of America. Elfasci’s YouTube channel has over 77,000 subscribers and 12 million views.
