Jaap van Zweden (b. 1960, Amsterdam) is a renowned Dutch conductor who served as music director of the New York Philharmonic (2018–2024) and Hong Kong Philharmonic (2012–2024), and in 2024 became music director of the Seoul Philharmonic. He has led top orchestras worldwide, including the Berlin, London, Los Angeles, and San Francisco symphonies, and in 2024/25 conducted the Chicago Symphony’s European tour. His past posts include Dallas Symphony (2008–2018) and the Royal Flanders Philharmonic (2008–2011). Honors include the Concertgebouw Prize (2023), Musical America’s Conductor of the Year (2012), and Gramophone’s Orchestra of the Year (2019 with the HK Phil). He also co-founded the Papageno Foundation for autism support.
